Creating an Action Plan.
Let’s put an action plan together that you can run over the next 30 or so days to help you rewire your brain for growth and success in 2024. I promise if you actively do these steps, they will make a difference.
- 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑹𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒕. So you’re going to start repeating things that move you towards your goals.
- The first thing that your going to repeat is “𝑰 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒅𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒈𝒐𝒂𝒍𝒔”. You’re going to focus 𝑶𝒃𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒚 on the physics of progress. The physics of progress are; that you need to come up with a hypothesis on what you need to do to achieve your goals. You’re then going to turn that hypothesis into something you can actually do. You going to do that thing – it’s going to fail to some extent, and you’re going to assess 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒊𝒕 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒅. That will give you clues on what was wrong with your hypothesis. Then your going to reformulate your hypothesis, in a now more educated way, and your going to turn that into something you can actually do. Then you’re going to repeat this process until you have perfected what you need to do to achieve success. You will have refined what you need to do to achieve success by assessing continuously assessing failures and what didn’t work.
- Make a list of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝑰𝑴𝑷𝑶𝑹𝑻𝑨𝑵𝑻 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒇𝒖𝒍. You need to have clarity on your goals, that is hugely important! Then you’re going to turn that into a list of things you can do or need to do to achieve those goals. You know you have enough clarity when you can write down a thing to do, that you can literally do in the next 15 minutes of your life, that will move you closer to your goal – when you know how to take action immediately – 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒔 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚!
- You have to 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑰𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒖𝒑𝒕! Because many of us are doing the same things repeatedly that are holding us back (I know you know this). If you don’t recognize that our brain wires around what we REPEAT, then you won’t understand how to unwire before you can rewire. The way you’re going to unwire things is – your going to let them atrophy (die off) by pattern interrupting… so that you stop reinforcing that wiring. And we first do this by saying “𝑰 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒅𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒈𝒐𝒂𝒍𝒔”. Repeat after me “𝑰 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒅𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒈𝒐𝒂𝒍𝒔”. I personally don’t allow myself to repeat “I’m not good enough”, or that “I’m not going to be able to pull this off”. Or, I don’t allow myself to repeat the things that I believe are stacked against me, or say that something isn’t my fault. I don’t allow myself to repeat anything that doesn’t move me towards my goals. That’s all going to allow atrophy/death of that old wiring (because neurons that wire together fire together), so whatever negative thing I’ve been repeating can start to lose its grip. And I replace that with positive mantras, positive self beliefs, and repeatable words that move me forward.
I know the above doesn’t seem like a lot, but it all starts in the mind. Success starts with mindset. The body hears what the mind says.
Change your words, let the hardwired negative stuff in your brain, die off while replacing with the positive. Make sure you have clarity on your goals. Only do that which moves you towards your goals. Translate goals into daily actionable items. Execute the majority of the time #consistencyiskey . Reflect and reassess every 30 days, and watch the magic happen.
This is how you hardwire a growth mindset because it is the only frame of reference from which you can actually execute on your goals and have the kind of success you have always wanted.
